‘’Art Songs transcending borders’’

Duo Istanbulied was founded by two Turkish musicians who had studied classical western music. The duo, who started their work in Istanbul in 2013, performed a repertoire of 1930s Turkish tango songs, arrangements of Turkish folk songs and many newly composed songs, in addition to classical songs by German, French and Russian composers, on stages in Turkey for about ten years. With mezzo-soprano Ekin Bezirganoğlu settling in Berlin, the duo plans to take part in the Berlin and other German stages as well as in Turkey.

Ekin Bezirganoğlu was born in 1985 in Izmir, and began her musical life in 1999 in Izmir Umran Baradan Anatolian Fine Arts High School by playing the violin and piano.
